Our founder’s vision was to develop leading edge technology solutions so that small and mid-sized travel agents would be able to effectively compete with the global giants. The vision was to provide agents with tools to process travel bookings efficiently, grow without adding people and have access to reporting to run their business effectively and provide corporate clients with the data needed to manage their T&E spend. The core of our product is process efficiency and data integrity.

This vision was undoubtedly realized as some of our clients have grown from small family businesses to become the largest travel businesses in the world.

Tramada Systems is a multi-award winning organization, winning the coveted Best Travel Agent Technology Innovation category in the 2019 Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) National Travel Industry Awards (NTIAs). Easy to learn and use, yet extremely sophisticated, tramada has the flexibility to operate a business to an agency’s specific requirements.

Travel Technology platform for the future

Cloud-based software as a service means that as the service provider, Tramada manages and is responsible for ensuring the software platform is continually maintained, with quality and feature upgrades while providing data security to meet regulatory requirements such as PCI DDS. To ensure we meet these obligations Tramada is strict in using industry best practice policies and procedures to ensure the protection of our customer’s data and businesses. Tramada uses MySQL real-time replication to keep databases at separate geographical locations synchronized so our client’s data is safe.

Tramada has long utilized proven open source technologies such as the Linux operating system, the Apache web server, MySQL database, JBoss application server and is completely Java based. By using open source technology and focusing on excellent engineering, Tramada was able to offer the Australian travel industry’s first cloud-based travel management system, and to make this offering at a great price.

Tramada continuously improves the product incorporating feedback from clients through the support function and client enhancement requests with our agile and iterative product release cycle. Most importantly, as experts in travel workflow automation, Tramada takes a thought leadership role in constantly searching out new technologies to build or integrate with. This helps travel agents stay ahead in the technology game, leading to greater efficiency, productivity and customer service offerings.

Since 2001, when the company was founded, the technology landscape has changed tremendously and our process of continuous improvement has seen the product evolve to meet changing requirements. Some of the major technologies adopted by the travel industry that hadn’t been heard of in 2001 include Business Intelligence, Duty of Care, PCI DSS, carbon emission tracking, to name a few.
